Evaluation of the workshop

What we really liked:

  • Provide sharing details on handsheet
    IMGoats July 2012 072.jpg
  • Process of OM is good
  • Learned about Outcome Mapping in details - happy with all arrangements
  • How to know project progress through OM / make future planning to achieve
  • How to know project country OM / how to learn VCA/IP
  • Selection of topics --> very suitable for both countries + relevant!
  • Got us to work together and come up with clear outputs at end of each session
  • Very good teamwork; active till the last day
  • Very much engaging
  • Engaged participants :)
  • Content, concept, way of presentation were loved
  • It was more participatory (process)
  • Rich variation in modalities for work sessions
  • Good varied facilitation! Different methods
  • Liked variety of exercises
  • Workshop facilitation is very good, keep us energising, learn more about working in group manner, efficiently for the product
  • Very good facilitation, dynamic, new approaches
  • Facilitation was lively --> opportunity to learn new facilitation methods
  • Good facilitation
  • The food was lovely!

What could have been improved:

  • Please try to keep slow speech
  • Please try to keep slow (?unrecognised word?)
  • Process was a bit fast, so little difficulty in my understanding
  • Fast process of workshop
  • Would have been good if some refresher training was given on Outcome Mapping
  • 5 days was very long... but it's also good to benefit time together
  • Long workshop shorter or with visit or 1/2 day break
  • Add break in the middle (e.g. field day) to recharge energy levels
  • Would have been better to have 1 or 1/2 day to the field
  • Some more icebreaking exercises is needed to motivate some of the more silent members
  • Exercises that motivate the more shy members to participate actively
  • Language was a constraint during some of the group exercises
  • Room is a bit small for so many people for 5 days

Closing remarks by Saskia

  • The agenda was very dense but it is heartening to see that all the teams have made good progress. OM has helped us to adapt our planning and improve our work.
  • The session on innovation platforms was useful for sharing experiences and frustrations, too, and how to overcome these.
  • On communications, we were able to review the plans we developed last year but didn't do much about. We need to review the plans we have drawn up here to ensure we have realistic actions.
  • We have 6 months left and a lot to do but there is a good team spirit and we can make it.

Vote of thanks

  • Ann, Ewen, Tezira & Kara: for facilitating and supporting the documentation on the wiki throughout the meeting
  • BAIF: for the hospitality and for hosting us. Dr Hegde's support is always welcome. Special thanks to the staff who provided the tea, water and lunches.
  • Birgit: for translating for our colleagues from Mozambique
  • Ramkumar: for organizing all the logistics
  • All: for good and honest discussions.

Remarks by Sathyavan

We had energetic discussion and we should maintain this enthusiasm as we return to our work places.
